MSU's groundbreaking deployment of C.A.B. marks the first of its kind within the Southeastern Conference and the state of Mississippi.

Two Beep autonomous shuttles operate on two key routes, connecting the campus core, housing, and entertainment spots. Approved by NHTSA, this pilot project will explore how autonomous vehicles can enhance MSU’s transportation system.

The shuttles come equipped with AI-enabled remote human supervision, self-governance, and an in-person attendant to ensure safety. Operating on roads with speed limits under 25 miles per hour, the Beep shuttles offer an innovative, eco-friendly solution for the MSU community.

C.A.B. will provide MSU with the data collection, performance evaluation, and community feedback needed to further define and develop the long-term transit strategy for its community.

“For Mississippi State to lead in applying this type of technology is expected because we’re already a national and global leader in the research realm of unmanned and autonomous vehicles.”

Jeremiah Dumas
Executive Director of Transportation, MSU
