ATL Spoke is an autonomous, frequent, fixed-route transit service being piloted in Southwest Atlanta designed to to complement existing MARTA service and improve the linkage to the Beltline.
The ATL Spoke marks the first autonomous public transit shuttle deployment in the City of Atlanta, connecting the West End MARTA Station, the Atlanta Beltline Southwest Trail, and destinations throughout the Lee + White district.
The 12-month pilot project, funded through a partnership between the Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority (GTEA) and the Atlanta Beltline, ATL Spoke runs approximately two miles along public streets in Southwest Atlanta.
ATL Spoke
The initial route connects the Beltline Southwest Trail with MARTA Rail. There are stops at MARTA West End Station, Joseph E. Lowery Blvd at Beecher Street, outside the Food Hall at the West Rideshare spot and at the East Rideshare spot. Phase 2 of the route will extend north to the Atlanta University Center in time for the fall semester. The shuttle runs 7 days a week, making it a reliable option no matter the day. With service every 12–15 minutes, you won’t have to wait long to catch a ride. Operating 10 hours a day, it’s designed to fit easily into your daily schedule. The service operates with a fleet of four vehicles, each carrying up to 12 passengers. Every shuttle is ADA accessible, making it easy and comfortable for everyone to ride.
